Mr. Arnold is in fact leaving Jefferson Middle School. As you may know, Mr. Arnold is, or should I say was, our principal. He is being promoted and will remain in the district, but another principal will take his place.

Sad times bro. Sad times.

Hello, students of Jefferson Middle School! Are you ready for Winter!!! Well, it doesn’t snow here but we do get an awesome break from school. Two weeks of freedom from school and homework, amazing am I right?? Anyway, whatever you do in Winter break I hope you all have fun with your friends and family! Winter break starts at December 24 and ends at January 4th so enjoy it to the fullest!

​Christmas time! Yay! Not only will Winter Break be arriving soon, but also December 21st is a minimum day. That means that dismissal is at 12 noon, with lunch taking place at the end of the school day. December 21st is the Friday before Winter Break, of course. Enjoy the upcoming holidays!
Oh, and did I say that Santa might visit? We’ve received word that he might come!
Note: Wednesday is still a 1:00 pm dismissal.

On December 13th, the 6th Graders will be having their first concert of the school year! They'll be playing in the Gym from 7:00 p.m to 8:30 p.m. It'll be sure to cause lots of treble ​if you don't go! So, be sure to attend the concert if you know someone who's performing, or if you just want to hear some nice music.

... I'm terribly sorry for the pun, it was really flat.

On Friday, the Jefferson Speech & Debate Team went all the up to Hollywood for their second tournament. The following of the which are the winners of that competition. In the Dramatic Interpretation category, Daphne Nea placed 1st, Jayme Banh placed 11th, and Rosarin Sanglimsuwan placed 12th. In the Original Duo, Garrison Chan and Joseph Peng won 3rd place! In the Speeches to Entertain, Mollee Angley placed 4th, and Jordan Liu placed 6th. And in Rookie Impromptu, Emilia Esseln placed 12th.

Finally, we'd like to give a congratulations for the students who had competed, as they had very little time to rebound off their first tournament. 

This Tuesday, on December 4th, is San Gabriel City’s Tree lighting. Go to Plaza Park (near the City Hall and the Mission) at 6:00 pm to watch the Jefferson Advanced Orchestra and 6th Grade Choir play/sing Christmas songs for all to hear. Safe driving and merry holidays to you!
