The headache started in the afternoon. Flake was cooped up in a stuffy basement at the edge of the palace, which was supposedly the safest place in the Coral Kingdom. He didn’t feel very comfortable there. It was hard to feel comfortable in any circumstance where two armed guards were tracking your every move. Flake knew they were there to protect him, but it still made him a bit uneasy.

5/12/2017 0 Comments Prion-X: Chapter Six Part TwoMichael stood at the door, he peered through the little window. He couldn’t see anything.
“Okay, here it goes.” he muttered. He slowly opened the door to the facility which was now drenched in darkness. He could still see however. Through the darkness he saw bodies everywhere, but he didn’t look at them. He spoke through the walkie-talkie. “I think it’s clear.” he whispered. Connor and Laura stepped out of the office. Hey immediately walked to the locker room, where the exit would be. Michael Crichton continued through the dark facility. He glanced at what used to be the containment room for the subject. It was empty. He didn’t hear anything besides his breathing. Where was all the infected? He was glad though, maybe they all killed each other. Or maybe there was still some left. He saw the safe room. The door was swung open and it was dark inside. Suddenly he felt something at his feet. He peered down and saw a black object. He didn’t know what it was until he felt it. It was one of the guns that the guards had. He picked it up. It’s heavy, he thought to himself. Michael continued towards the room. He then heard something. He hoped it was Connor or Laura but he knew better. He turned around quickly, but quietly. He turned and saw an infected. It stared right at him, and Michael stared right back. It just stood there. His heart was pumping so fast he thought it would literally burst. His whole body felt cold, and he couldn’t maintain his hands still. Then, like nothing it turned around and walked the other direction. It didn’t see me, he thought to himself. He was still terrified. Michael didn’t complain, but was terrified by the fact that there was still infected alive. He walked into the now empty safe room. He saw exactly what he was looking for. On the corner of the wall was a metal board containing buttons, levers, and lights. But in the center of it all was a large red button. There was a key slot adjacent to it. He fished a key that Laura gave him from his pocket and inserted it. He twisted it then took it out. Finally he peered at the red button. This was it, he thought, the end to this. He slammed the bottom of his fist onto the button. Then a electronic voice responded from the speakers. “Failsafe activated, two minutes remaining until detonation.” Two minutes?! he thought to himself, realizing he was just wasting precious seconds. Michael then heard something. He recognized it as a metallic crashing sound. Maybe the pipes, the vents... wait, vents? He had an awful realization as he saw a dark shadowy figure climb down the vent. It looked at him and yelled. Michael Crichton ran. “Where is he?” Connor asked “He’ll be here any second.” she told him calmly, though she herself was also skeptical. They heard the static of the walkie-talkie. They quickly responded. “Yes Michael did you do it?” “Yes! Get out and open the door!” he cried. They quickly did and peered out. They both saw Michael running at full speed, with something in his hands. Behind him the saw the figure of multiple infected running as well, drawing nearer every second. Connor and Laura became panicked and ran to the elevator room. They pushed the button to open the door. But it felt like an eternity as they heard the mechanical buzz of the elevator slowly going down. The turned around and saw Michael in the locker room. The elevator made a “ding” sound and opened. They entered, leaving space for Michael. Michael ran with all his vigor. He didn’t turn around but he knew they were getting closer and closer as the raspy sounds increased. He saw the elevator open and Connor and Laura stepping inside visually anticipating for his arrival. He ran harder and was huffing and puffing and was sweating hard. Before he knew it he was in the elevator he quickly unsigned the automatic weapon from his shoulder and pointed it at the infected. He held down the trigger, which was met with the loud crackling of gunfire. He had never shot a gun before so the recoil sent him towards the back of the elevator. The infected slowed down, and slowly and casually the elevator closed, leaving the infected down at the facility, and the trio safe. They climbed out of the hatch and rolled onto the moist long grass of the power line field. It was midnight, and the moon shone brightly and their sweaty faces. Michael Crichton looked at the star-lit night and gave a half smile. They all looked at each other, without words they all knew what was on each other’s minds. We survived. Suddenly the felt the earth rumble beneath their feet. They were all destroyed. They all got up and started walking towards Connor's car. Michael felt like he hadn’t been in that car for ages. But really it was only a day. “What are we going to do now?” he said. “I’m going back to the university” Connor sighed “I prefer not having to worry about dying” He then laid back on the soft grass. “I’ll probably go back to the university, too” Laura said “But first I’m going to have to explain this disaster. So many people...” She sighed. “What about you Michael?” Michael Crichton shrugged. “I could write a book about it.” Chapter Twenty-Eight: In Which Rose Finds Out A Lot More Than She Wants To
A million thoughts were in Rose’s head that morning in the Coral Kingdom. She had questions, questions that could only be heard by one person, and he wasn’t there. To her frustration, in the bubble as they entered Coral Kingdom, she couldn’t hear what Colden was saying, but she could hear the security guard perfectly fine. He called Colden the prophesied boy -what did that mean?- and was perfectly fine with letting him in the kingdom and leading her to a fancy hotel. What did he say that would make the guard so lenient? Chapter 5: Survival
Michael’s heart was pumping. He was absolutely terrified. He began to sweat and breath heavy. “Where do the vents lead?” “The whole compound,” Palmer said. “I knew we shouldn’t of connected them!” “He could be anywhere,” Connor mumbled. Chapter Twenty-Six: In Which The Oracle Stops By
Flake woke up. He looked at the soft blue color of the ceiling of his room. Strange. He could have sworn that he was in another kingdom doing something important… no. Probably just a dream. He sat up. Everything in his room looked the same. The side desk was tidy, the closet was shut. The window displayed darkness, so it must still be the night. Why would he wake up in the middle of the night? Flake yawned again and slid under the covers. Maybe he should just go back to sleep… 4/28/2017 0 Comments Prion-X: Chapters Three and FourChapter 3: Facility
“Connor,” Michael said sitting in the passenger seat of the car. “You’re not messing with me right?” Connor turned to him “I wish I was.” “But how? Where did this come from?” Michael said shaking his head. “We don’t know! We have many theories but none of them hold up.” He sighed “Heck, we think it might come from extraterrestrial origins.” Chapter Twenty-Four: In Which They Venture Into The Coral Kingdom And Chief Ripple Gets Ticked Off
It felt like the bubble was going to pop at any moment. As Flake felt the surface of the bubble, it seemed really thin, like if he stuck a finger through it, it would disappear. He didn’t dare try. Outside the bubble was quite a sight. As the bubble went lower and lower, Flake could see a whole underwater world develop under him. Near the surface, there was nothing, but the deeper it was, the more signs of life appeared. Fish of all different sorts swam everywhere, weird colored plants and coral thrived on underwater rocky cliffs. Rose oohed and ahhed at everything, which reminded Flake too much of Snow. She would have loved this sight. 4/22/2017 0 Comments A Quick MessageThe Snowflake Chronicles is taking a short break today in order to introduce you to the new series, Prion-X! Finally he found his half full box of Honey Bunches of oats. He placed the box on the table and searched for a bowl and spoon. After he poured milk into the cereal filled bowl.
