7th Grade Science Field Trip!

​On Monday, October 9 and 10, Ms. Tom will be taking her 7th Grade science classes to the Santa Monica Recreation Area in California.

During the field trip, the 7th graders will be working on a service project to be caretakers of the park. They will be planting native plants and removing non-native plants to help the endangered California species. After lunch, students will do some recreational hiking and visiting the Visitor Center after that.

Periods 1, 2, and 4 will be going on MONDAY, OCTOBER 9.
Periods 3, 7, and 8 will be going on TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10

Students attending the field trip will be leaving JMS at 8:00 am and will return at 4:00 am.

Schedule:

7:45: Line up at buses, leaders take attendance of your group, don’t get on the bus until your chaperone arrive.

8:00: Depart Jefferson.

9:30: Stop for quick group photo: Arrive at Headwaters Corner for native/invasive plant project.

11:30: Depart for Malibu Creek State Park (5 min. drive), eat lunch, use restrooms, HIKE and work on observation activity.

1:40: Leave for King Gillette Ranch (3 min. drive).

1:45: At Visitor Center: Look at exhibits, talk to the staff, get sworn in as Jr. Rangers and receive Jr. Ranger Badges, use the restrooms.

2:15: Depart Visitor Center.

3:45: Arrive at Jefferson.
